Legal Impact for Chickens seeks a
LITIGATION INTERN.
Want to help animals and help build something?
This is an unpaid summer position. Legal Impact for Chickens (LIC) seeks a candidate who can either obtain outside funding or receive course credit to intern at our animal welfare nonprofit.
About us:
LIC is a litigation nonprofit dedicated to making factory-farm cruelty a liability.
LIC’s first case, a shareholder derivative suit against Costco executives for chicken neglect, appeared in The Washington Post, Fox Business, CNN Business, and beyond.
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial summer intern to help design and carry out creative, precedent-setting lawsuits, and to help build this new org!
About you:
• Zealous, creative, enthusiastic law student
• Entrepreneurial spirit
• Passion for helping farmed animals
• Ability to conduct legal research on Westlaw or Lexis
• Happy to roll up your sleeves and do all types of nonprofit startup work, beyond just legal work. You don’t need skills or experience in any area—only a willingness to try new things!
• Fast learner
• Kind to our fellow humans
About the role:
Your role will be a combination of (1) helping us design and pursue creative impact litigation for animals, and (2) helping with everything else we need to do, to build a new nonprofit!
Location: This is a remote, U.S.-based position.
Timing: Summer 2024
Compensation: Unpaid
One more thing!
LIC is an equal opportunity employer. Women and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status.
To Apply:
To apply, please email your cover letter, resume, writing sample, and unofficial transcript, all combined as one PDF, to info@legalimpactforchickens.org.
Thank you for your time and your compassion!
Sincerely,
Legal Impact for Chickens
