Legal Impact for Chickens urges the US Department of Agriculture to abandon the proposed rule that would allow faster poultry slaughterhouse line speeds. See Maximum Line Speed Rates for Young Chicken and Turkey Establishments Operating under the New Poultry Inspection System, Document ID FSIS-2025-0012-0003.

Increased line speeds worsen suffering for billions of birds and raise the risk of injuries for slaughterhouse workers.

So Legal Impact for Chickens participated in a coalition of organizations that submitted comments urging the USDA to drop both the proposed poultry-slaughter rule and a similar swine-slaughter rule. You can read the coalition’s comments here:
